Boxwoods (Buxus spp.) were one of the earliest plants used in North American landscapes, with planting records dating back to the mid-1600s. These deer-resistant, pollinator-friendly evergreens remain one of our most popular landscape plants. However, their long run is threatened by the non-native box tree BTM. What is the future for boxwoods? This presentation covers BTM detection, biology, and management, both short and long-term. The overarching theme is don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.
