A divot is a piece of turf and soil that is often displaced as a result of a golf strike. Divots can be of different shapes and sizes depending on the hitting pattern and the recovery period of these divots is also different. The objectives of this study were to quantify the impact of three common divot patterns on available tee space, divot mix needs, and divot recovery. The linear pattern seems a better option as it had a lower area of impact and divoted turf than the scattered pattern and a higher recovery rate than the concentrated pattern.
