Bio: Brian is an Extension Wildlife Specialist and Extension Coordinator in the Department of Forestry & Natural Resources at Purdue University. He has over 20 years of experience in education and research about wildlife management, human-wildlife conflicts, and extension programming. Brian is a Certified Wildlife Biologist as awarded by the Wildlife Society and has served as president and member-at-large for the Indiana Chapter.

White-tailed Deer are a common foe in efforts to establish landscaping and gardens in both urban and suburban areas. However, understanding the basics of deer provides insights into how to approach damage management and prevention. I will present information on deer biology and methods to deter deer damage including exclusion, behavior modification, and cultural methods.
