Bio: Kyle Daniel is the Nursery and Landscape Specialist in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Purdue University. In addition to his primary Extension appointment, Kyle teaches Landscape Construction and Management and co-teaches Field Production of Horticultural Crops and has conducted several research trials which include glyphosate effects on trees, cold hardiness and salt tolerance trials, fertility trials, native ornamental plant selections, herbicide trials in landscapes and nursery production. Kyle works with Green Industry professionals across the state to troubleshoot problems and provide consultations. He is currently the Education Director for the Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association, co-director for education at the Indiana Green Expo, Nursery representative on the Indiana Arborist Association, an ISA Certified Arborist, member of the Indiana Plant Advisory Committee, and was previously the Chair of the North Central Nursery IPM Working Group.

Many weeds can be a problem in the landscape and chemical control options may be limited due to phytotoxicity concerns around ornamental plants. This presentation will discuss the life cycle of our most difficult weeds and address effective control options, including pre and post-emergence herbicides.
